Our son Charlie died on August 15, 2016 at the age of 16. I went to wake him and found him face down on his bed. Charlie had had only five seizures in his life, and none at all that we know of between ages 3 and 15. His seizures seemed easily controlled on a very low dose of Tegretol. Our lives are shattered. This loving, generous, spirited boy was beloved by us, his extended family, his friends and our community. Just three weeks before he died, he returned from a week-long service trip doing volunteer home repair in Appalachia. He had much he was living for.
