I lost my 23-year-old son, Keith, to SUDEP on August 17, 2016. He had been diagnosed with Complex Temporal Epilepsy in late June, 2016, after his first grand mal seizure. He had been put on medication and it was his second seizure on August 17th that took his life. He had just graduated college with his electrical engineering degree in December, had a great job writing computer software and was in the best shape of his life, running almost daily and working out. He was a twin and he and his sister were born on my birthday, which is Christmas day. Ten days after Keith's death, his twin was to be married while he played guitar as she walked down the aisle. She did get married but we got to do this without him. He was a gem and suddenly, he was gone.
