I am the mother of a SUDEP victim. My 23 year old daughter, Chelsea, died in 2012 on the day she was to receive her Masters of Science in Teaching. She had lived well with epilepsy since age 9, traveling the world, participating in sports, receiving a third degree black belt in karate, was engaged to be married, and was loved by all. I have another daughter, Courtney, who also has epilepsy. While I believe her SUDEP risk is lower, she struggles with other issues brought on by epilepsy - anxiety, depression, headaches.
